Easton Walled Garden and Clipsham Yew Hedge

 It is hot.. too hot....

Easton was a manor that purchased by the Cholmeley family since 1592. The house was partially rebuilt in 1805 but it was damaged by the army during WWII and pulled down in 1951. The gardens were abandoned but the family began a renovation in 2001.

Clipsham Yew Tree Avenue is over 200 years old and was once the carriage drive to Clipsham Hall. It is over 500 metres long and has been maintained by the Forestry Commission. Since 2010 the Commission has not had the money to do an annual trimming. The Clipsham Yew Tree trust has signed a 20 year agreement to take over management of the avenue.
