So today Kingston Lacy. In hindsight I should have gone here on Thursday and done Mapperton today but you live and learn.
The house was built by the Bankes family (who owned Corfe Castle) in the early 1660's.
Upon arrival I was asked if I wanted a timed ticket to the house. I've been before the sun was shining and I said no.

Now on my way I had seen an interesting looking building and thought that sign looks National Trust like. Anyway I had never heard of the White Mill so about 2pm I decided to investigate.
The White Mill is an 18th-century water powered corn mill on the River Stour . The first record of a mill on the site maybe from the Doomsday Book certainly from the 12th century. The current watermill was rebuilt in 1776 and extensively repaired in 1994. It still retains its original elm and applewood machinery though this can no longer be used.

When I got back I had a wander and looked on the bridge near the B&B and....
They take these things seriously in Dorset!!
