Cotehele

So off to Cotehele today. It is a medieval manor house on the edge of Cornwall. Over the years it has not been greatly altered as it was a second home for the Edgecombe's.

Is there a better spot to enjoy a coffee and read a book? I just love this pond!

The Orchard has over 250 apple trees, mainly of West-country varieties. The orchard is divided into eating, culinary and cider varieties. At the moment for a donation the trust are letting you pick apples.

The sign says Gordon's retreat. Gordon is a lawnmower. Given that was my dads name and his fascination with cutting grass it made me chuckle!

Cider press

The valley garden is closed but you can get down to the quay. The woodland chapel is dedicated to St Thomas Beckett.

The Quay is normally busy but not today.

The mill is closed but I still walked to it. Somebody had left some bird food in places on the route which I loved as I saw many Marsh Tit, Coal Tit and Nuthatch.

A really good day!

Gorgeous photos - I've never been to Cotehele but it looks lovely. Not sure whether I like the giant hand holding an apple - I thinks its the nails I find a bit creepy!
