Snowshill

I am going to have to do this in two again!  I am going to publish the middle bit now and the rest tomorrow morning

Snowshill is a 16th century tudor house but it is famous as the home of the collector Charles Paget Wade.

Wade made his money from Sugar, he saw Snowshill advertised whilst serving in WWI in 1916 and purchased it in 1919 restoring the Manor House and laying out the gardens from 1920 to 1923.

His house is full of his collection and he lived in the priest house ! Although the collection contains no great treasures much of it is unique.

And if anyone tells you that all National Trust houses are the same? Send them to Snowshill..... it is mad... it is bonkers.... it is fascinating!
