Walking

I am having a quiet few weeks staying local things will pick up in a week or so!

I am seeing a Little Egret fairly regularly at the New Hall pond and one day there were two! They are always distant though!

Lots of youngsters about which is nice to see and lots of things have reached adolescence! The Canada Geese and 4 Mallard chicks are all grown up!

This poor chap is still there all on its own! Its friend disappeared during the cold snap!

Large Skipper I think. There are a few more butterflies but still not many peacocks, Red Admirals etc. I have yet to see a Painted Lady!

The 4 foals are all doing well.

Nice to see a comma!

The two mallards on the common pond are growing and sticking close to Mum

I didn't take my camera out Wednesday and this lot appeared on the New Hall pond! There are 8!! I don't expect all to make it!

And Thursday afternoon I left my camera at home and there were 3 or 4 of these Marbled Whites!

I took the camera out today and NOTHING!

Distant record shot of the Reed Warblers. I'm pretty sure they've bred and 3 or 4 birds singing.

The New Hall duckling are growing and there are still 8!!

And the Common Pond ducklings are starting to grow!

tough life being a pony.

I haven't been to any of my local nature reserves in weeks. I'm just enjoying the local stuff :)

Its a great idea to walk an area locally regularly as you get to see so many changes in nature as it happens and can follow progress of species such as those lovely mallard ducklings.
I'll see if I can beat you the first Painted Lady sighting! -lol :)
