So the weather has turned. It was grey and from around midday we had rain.
Now I have one Somerset church to do and it was 50 miles away. But it is somewhere I don't often visit. I have tried twice before but I had emailed the church and I was advised it would be open... so,,..
901 St Andrew, Banwell.
A predominantly 15th century building with a 12th century font.
This street art is by D-NEK and stands guard over the war memorial.
So next to Cleeve Abbey which was completed by 1300. It has a fine refectory, medieval pavement and a painted room. It must have been very fine in its day.
Selworthy is a "National Trust " village with a fine church (visited many years ago) but it has a tearoom called Periwinkle cottage tearoom and they follow the duck on twitter so I just had to visit.

Banwell is just a couple of miles from me, there's a fascinating defunct church at nearby Puxton. You've covered a fair distance in your day, with Selworthy tearooms being a good stop.
Also if you're still in the Porlock area Stoke Pero Church is fascinating. Bit of a wild drive to get there but worth it. https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/11312/

Glad you managed a new church tick Pete. I haven't been to Selworthy for years but I do remember it is very pretty. Love Cleeve Abbey - especially those medieval tiles! Heck I shall have to consider a holiday in the Somerset area!!
