Lavenham Guildhall

I had a wander to Lavenham today. I had a wander around the Guildhall it seems to be ages since I have been inside. I assume pre pandemic. It was built in 1529 by one of four wool guilds. After the decline of the wool trust it became a bridewell (prison) and a workhouse. Today Lavenham is a picturesque and seemingly prosperous large village but the NT as an exhibition of photos showing the poor state of repair after the war. There is also an exhibition on the railway in Lavenham pre-Beeching.

It was a bit of a surprise to find a new second-hand bookshop!

The obligatory scone

Hello Rameses how are you doing!

Most stations have now vanished and the existence of the station is long gone.

I did wander to Clare Country Park for lunch and a wander but didn't take any photos. EEK

It looks such an interesting museum. Glad I wasn't an inmate there though. So glad the town houses are no longer derelict there. It always look so picturesque :)
