Hatfield Forest

Although it was grey and dull the threatened rain held off during my visit this morning.

Coffee!

There were a couple of Little Egrets and a Grey Heron. The Egrets seem to be regular.

The decoy pond had a male and female Gadwall which is unusual they quickly flew off. I assume migrants.

Just the one Great Crested Grebe.

There were lots of Redwings about. A group of Chaffinch and Greenfinch feeding under some trees was scrupulously scoured for winter finches.... uh no. I did see a Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, Nuthatches and Great Spotted Woodpecker.

I was a nice walk. Wellies needed :)
