She often visits Burford House Garden and recommended it to me. I would probably avoid it as it is attached to a garden centre and that would be a mistake as it is a nice visit and only cost a fiver.
It was lovely to se a Kingfisher flash through.
I went for a walk in the wildflower menu.
Answers on a post card....
Now I know RR has been in the church but I don't remember much about it......
so far so Victorianised and then you reach the chancel!
This is a wooden Tudor effigy of Edmund Cornwall who died in 1508 aged 20.
But here is the star. Elizabeth of Lancaster, Duchess of Exeter and daughter of John of Gaunt. What is a medieval princess doing here???
Lots of of other monuments. Look at RR's blog as she'll have lots more infro.
A few tomb details
My next recommendation was Stockton Bury Gardens. My first stop was the tea room (putting my brolly in my bag! ). I ordered a very nice Bacon Baquette (more bacon than baguette :) ) and headed outside. The heavens opened and I headed into the marquee.
It stopped so off I went. nice garden well worth a visit.
The rains set in again so I found a gazebo and read. I have a successful reading holiday.
Amusingly as I left the sun came out.
I popped into St James, Kimbolton
A good day. I never made it to Wigmore Castle
