Berrington Hall is a georgian manor house with apparently Capability Brown's last landscape design.
Thankfully it wasn't as hot today. It may well have been but the cloud cover made it more bearable. I hadn't meant to spend all day there but I was into my book so just "toodled" about.
Plenty of Lambs about. Always good to see!
I wandered down to the lake
There were quite a few mallard broods!
This is John Cawley who died in WWII in 1943. The painting was completed after his death as a memorial. The hall was given to the NT in lieu of death duties in 1957. His mother continued to live there until her death in 1978 aged 100.
I wonder how many women would want to wear that!
Another Coronation Scone.
There was once a flower garden here (I believe it was turned to crop production during WWII). The trust are now creating a new flower garden.
A pleasant day! Tomorrow something different!
