It is kind of ironic that we have had one of the best May's I can remember and have been confined to base. The country is opening a bit but for the moment I am playing it safe. I have earmarked the day I will be venturing further afield,
We will start with a few pics from my weekday walks. These are more walks for exercise rather than wildlife watching BUT Tuesday was exciting as I came across a Spotted Flycatcher I really didn't expect to find one!
This was taken Tuesday. There is a photo taken later that shows you how much they have grown
These were growing on the bridge over the M11
As I left the house this morning this chap was in the trees in the front garden.
Off to the pond and the adults seem to have wandered off... you can see the 8 youngsters are growing up quickly
Emperor Dragonfly
So off south along the M11
So through the underpass into the woods
The highlight being a Goldcrest... another one for the pandemic list.
I wander back across the common back across the M11 bridge and then on to my standard route. A posy blue.

A lovely walk Pete and well done on that Spotted Flycatcher! I just knew you would see one before me!!! :) I think they are easing the lockdown too much too soon imho! I may try and find a country walk somewhere next week as my son is on holiday and daughter still on furlough leave. But I am not keen on going where there may be a lot of people!
