I decided as the forecast was dry to head to Croome as there is a fair amount of walking and it really is best when its dry!
I wandered down to the lake first.
Nice to see this has been restored after some idiots crayoned it!
St Mary's Magdalene is in the care of the Chruches Conservation Trust. It was rebuilt and completed in 1763. Some of the monuments were preserved from the old church but one was not included as the then earl disapproved of his fathers 2nd marriage and his tomb is at nearby Elmley Castle. The interiors to Croome are attributed to Robert Adam
Nice scone
The house has had a chequered history, it was a school, home to the hare krishna and used by private developers. The National Trust now has a long term lease I believe. Hence of lots of contents and interiors are gone.
There's an exhibition about Thomas Bewick (famous naturalist think Bewick Swan) This is an original of his book.
This album by Nesta and Olwen is good

This is clever .... it is called the archive and every file tells a story.
Left behind by the boys catholic school
Croome was home to RAF Defford and there is a nice museum telling its story.
