Today I went to Nostell Priory. I have been before but it must have been 15 plus years ago!
The Onions are doing well
I got hissed at!
Not a bad spot to read!
The queue in the tea room was slow.... but that was kind of lucky as they were out of Rhubarb scones and whilst waiting the dish was filled up!!
This clock is by John Harrison a self-educated English carpenter and clockmaker who invented the marine chronometer and was born on the Nostell Estate. There was a book and TV programme made about his quest called Longitude
Nostell is home to a Breughel The procession to Calvary....
Now under normal circumstances I would have wandered back to read my book but Doncaster was down the road so
884 St George's Minster, Doncaster
The church is Victorian replacing a church built down in 1853.
A good day
