Charlecote Park

Charlcote Park was owned by the Lucy family since 1247 however the current house was built relatively recently in 1558!

Apparently William Shakespeare used to poach deer! There is still a heard of Fallow Deer there
























The parterre is a recreation of a 1700's original

I love the butterfly and damselfly images. I've not seen a Ringlet yet this year. An interesting property Charlecote. I bought a super little book from there called "The Mistress of Charlecote - The Memoirs of Mary Elizabeth Lucy 1803-1889" - well worth reading if you haven't already done so :)
