Do you remember the story about a council cutting down a wildlife meadow in a Devon churchyard?
Well its happened again!
About 150 snakeshead fritillaries were planted in Cuckingstool Mead, Malmesbury by members of the community in October last year. Then along came council workers and cut the field. Apparently the area was marked by stakes. Deputy mayor John Lawton said
"I am a little bit less than chuffed that they have been mowed down," .
