Well I got up at stupid o'clock and headed to Gatwick and got a turbo prop plane to Guernsey.
I headed for a coffee and then popped across the road to Fort Grey a Napoleonic fort now a shipwreck museum, small but interesting.
A Roman ship excavated in Guernsey.
I then went along Rocquaine Bay. To Fort Pezeries and the Tanle des Pions.
Dinner was a crab sandwich and I had a piece of Gache with my afternoon coffee.
I noticed Pleinmont Tower was open so I drove up. It was part of Nazi Germanies Atlantic wall. The defences on Guernsey must have cost a fortune but we're never used as the expected attack never came as the allies bypassed the Channel Islands.
Birds seen? Rock Pipit, Raven, Marsh Harrier, Linnet and a Barn Owl flying over the M23 this morning. Oh I saw a Painted Lady.
