Claybrooke Parva Church and Kirby Hall

I have moved and I'm on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border for a few days. Oddly many of the big houses are closed tomorrow.

My first target Church was closed and the keyholders I tried out. Still...

902 St Peters, Claybrooke Parva

And so on to Kirby Hall.

It was once one of the finest Tudor houses in the country and at one point owned by the Elizabeth I favourite Sir Christopher Hatton. The vagaries of inheritance means it became a second home and fell into disrepair.

I'm hopeful of two churches tomorrow.
