Barrington Court and Forde Abbey

I had planned to go to Lytes Cary today but I checked opening at the house is only open Tuesday to Thursday at the moment. I've noticed a number of trust properties have reduced openings post Covid. I imagine this is due to lack of volunteers etc so quick change of plan....

Barrington Court is a tudor manor house. The house is empty of furnishings and the reason for visiting is the lovely Gertrude Jekyll garden (which was never fully completed to the original plan I believe.

I then went to Forde Abbey a former Cistercian monastery which has some lovely gardens.

I didn't go in the house the sun as shining, it was warm so I just enjoyed the garden and read :)

Tomorrow will be a bit different
