Montacute

I'm staying at the Belfry at Yarcombe and dinner last night was LOVELY!!

We packed a lot in to today so I've split the blog in two!

First stop was Montacute........

Montacute is a late tudor house built in approx 1598 by Sir Edward Phelips Master of the Rolls and prosecutor of the gunpowder plot.

Very frustratingly the sun went and we had grey cloud......

roasted with a little garlic butter?

Montacute has a fine collection of Tudor and Stuart portraits!

The cat!

And after the AWFUL Lytes Cary scone Montacute restored local honour with a fine scone!
