You wait for a year for me to show some new churches and suddenly an avalanche!!
807 All Saints, Babbacombe
I headed off through Torquay which looked actually quite pleasant. I saw a sign to the Gleneagles hotel that billed itself as the inspiration for Fawlty Towers. Paignton looked a little more run down... still
808 St John's, Paignton
And so to my first National Trust property of the week. May I put the trust at notice that when the world recognises that I should be in absolute control I will have Coleton Fishacre as my Devon residence it is LOVELY!!
It was built in the arts & crafts style as was the home of the D'oyle Cartes (Gilbert & Sullivan don't you know).
They have Tricia's first camera!!!
and her first binocs!!
this room is lovely!!
I was going to have soup for lunch but saw that the scone of the month was Red Leicester, Tomato and Majoram. It was not bad...... prefer my scones sweet.
The gardens are amazing. I whiled my time away wandering and reading....
There were lots of Red Admirals! One bush must have had about 50!
Afternoon tea. Not a bad effort. Could have been bigger but enjoyable.
