The weather and Wildlife

All this rain has an affect on our wildlife.

The wet weather means Hedgehogs are starving after rain has greatly reduced their food opportunities according to a Wildlife rescuer. It just goes to show how important it is to feed our garden wildlife.

The wet weather is also having an impact on ground nesting bumblebees acccording to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. One of the species at risk is the Great Yellow which is our rarest bumble.

The wet weather is also having an impact on our Lincolnshire birds. Not known for their colourful plumage, they are now starting to climb the walls!

The little hedgehog reappeared this afternoon, and just as you say he is having trouble finding enough food. hedge hog rescue have taken him away to fatten him up and when he is fitter they will release him in the forest.
