Out for a stroll

A week ago it was intolerable today it was much more pleasant

Do you remember the 2 ducklings from Fridays blog? Well on Saturday nothing! I wondered if maybe Mum had taken them to the next pond which is a good 100 yards away but thought this was unrealistic. The next pond is divided by a footpath, nothing on the smaller pond or the larger... hang on, is that a female mallard at the far side? I put my bins up and yes it was and behind her? 2 little ducklings swimming.

This morning? Nothing :(

Yesterday I thought I had seen a Jersey Tiger Moth but couldn't get enough of a view to confirm ... today I saw it again!

We have two families of Canada Geese on the common pond!

The ducklings on the common pond are doing well. There are 5 of them still,

I can confirm there are three foals on the common! I had already passed the other one with its Mum

I thought I'd look for the ducklings on my way back. I got to the Coalport Pond where they had moved from Satuday and they were back! Apparently Mum walked them back again!!

Walking

I haven't done much since coming back, I mean there was no way I was walking in that flipping heat!! Which has hampered my 2000 mile challenge but I am still ahead of schedule/

Anyway here are some local pics.

These are the 5 ducklings on the Common Pond taken before I went to the Cotswolds. I hadn't seen them since my return but they were there today :)

Before I went to the Cotswolds I saw two ducklings on the pond closest to my house. I didn't expect them to survive as that pond as never seen ducklings raised in past two years. They were there Saturday which pleased me but then would they survive the heat? Well today? :)

The Canada Goose family I saw at the New Hall pond have migrated to the Common Pond (well I assume its them as there are the same numbers!)

The foals !

I promise to go somewhere next week!

Hidcote & Bourton House Gardens

And so it is over! It was just a short break.

Today I started at Hidcote. I've not been "in season" in a while. It was busy! but it was looking lovely.

My coffee companion :)

A Silver Washed Fritillary.

Hidcote used to have a great scheme for solo travellers to reserve a table alas no more so I had my scone as a takeaway.

So where now? I decided to go to Bourton House Garden. I've been many times but again a while since this time of year.

I started with a cup of tea...

Another lovely day!

Given the extreme heat coming up I won't be taking many pictures LOL
