Monday Morning at Audley End

I hadn't been to Audley in months and so I wandered there this morning.

First thing was to grab a coffee alas no food as Audley like a number of heritage sites is rather surprised when you ask for something like a sausage roll "they are in the oven"....

The gardens and grounds were looking lovely

There were lots of geese (mostly Canada's and a few Greylags)  mallards. There also a few Little Grebes and 2 Little Egrets.

Overhead lots of Swallows and House Martins. I guess they are thinking of heading South?

Plenty of Apples!

Some people, hello Dad ;), would prefer this cut! I, on the other hand like it as it encourages insects,

I headed off to find some food.

It looks lovely there Pete and so autumnal! :) Looks quiet too - have the kids gone back to school where you are? Still appear to be off here :(
