I would like to say the KINDLE HAS LANDED, THE KINDLE HAS LANDED!!!
This will get updated later but ...
Downloading via wifi is easy! I've managed to download a book! You can download without wifi, by downloading to your PC and then copy to your Kindle which shows as a USB drive.
It is a rather nice size. And its slim and light. This should give you an idea of size.
Readability? Excellent indoors. I took it out into the bright sun and it was fine. Yes you can get glare if you move the screen to the right angle BUT it was very readble in direct light.
The only annoying thing is that I have about 3 months of nomral books to read!!

Oooooh - this is sooo exciting - And will be so much easier to take on your hols :D
I don't know why I'm finding this Kindle so fascinating...but I definitely am...hmmm!! The problem is I have a black plastic sack (they are waiting for new shelves) full of unread books due to getting way behind with reading when I had my eye problems.
BTW re. an earlier post, I had never heard of John Field but thought the piece of music you posted of his was really beautiful.
ss - yes i've got loads of books to read !! any new stuff will be kindle if available.
the field? I'd never heard of him. on my download to MP3 list :D
Hi again Pete, Oh dear, I am hanging my head in shame! I asked my husband, last night, if he had ever heard of John Field and he said 'Yes he was an Irish composer, he invented the nocturne and we have a CD of his work'!!
As with books, we have so many CDs that I don't know what we've got and what we haven't got :)
The Kindle looks very neat, Pete. Will be interested to hear how it compares with a real book when you have caught up on your normal books and do a download. I have a feeling I may have to go down that route myself as I am currently banned from buying any more books until I get rid of some :D
LOL! Good luck there Pete. I said that about 3 years ago and still haven't picked them up. In fact, I wound up downloading 2 of them on Kindle :)
