Ok Ok I've done it. I've ordered a Kindle! Ultimately I've decided that I need to somehow stem the flow out of the fourth bedroom! I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives.
I've also decided that I'm not longer listening to my music collection. So I'm think of buying an MP3- it won't be an apple!
More to follow !

Ah but it can't replace the feel of the book and the smell of the paper...:)
I have just enjoyed at least half an hour of catching up with your latest holiday antics and am writing this comment while listening to your William Byrd and I totally agree Byrd and Tallis...wonderful, memorable music, always so soothing!
What a great time you and Tricia had and so many lovely photos, I enjoyed them all but please put me out of my misery and tell me what all the colourful umbrellas were about?
you're right of course but it needs to be done.
the sculptures are to celebrate three female gardeners.
Vita Sackville-West, Gertrude Jekyll and Phyllis Reiss
You sound like Stephen Fry's opposite number. :-)
Mind you, I should talk.... looking at all the gadgets on my desk. Three computers, a graphics tablet and pressure sensitive pen, several external hard drives, a Yamaha amplifier and speakers (for computers), a CF card reader, a pen drive... and that's just this desk.
Thanks Pete! Curiosity satisfied :)
Ah - you've succumbed. Whilst I agree that nothing replaces the feel of the pages being turned in anticipation in a "real" book, it is a very convenient way to store volumes!! (Literally - lol)
And music too..... lovely!
a little ipod is a nice inexpensive thing to have.
What's this! What's this!...I can't believe you folded! tut!
