A man was caught with two pigeons down his trousers after he got off a flight from Dubai to Melbourne.
The live birds were wrapped in padded envelopes and held to the man's legs by a pair of tights under his trousers.
Australia has very strict laws about the illegal importation of wildlife, plants and food. The man could face 10 years imprisonment as well as a fine of A$110,000 (£50,000).
The man also had two eggs in a vitamim container.
Oddly the Pigeons weren't even rare!

Well I guess he had a good reason, but whatever it was, I hope they throw the book at him, that's disgusting, I'm surprised the poor things were still alive. Maybe they were treasured pets and he couldn't bear to be parted from them!
I know of someone here and a struck off vet who were involved in smuggling eggs and chicks out of Australia. (Cockatoos) They went inside. Bloody good job too.
?? Perhaps these were a special homing pigeon specie? Wonder how he kept them still; I doubt that they listened very well to him ordering them to stay absolutely still.
Do feel sorry for the poor birds.
