I thought non-UK readers would like proof that we are all stark raving bonkers.
In the UK we have a number of quaint customs. For example every year people run down the 1 in 2 Cooper's Hill in Brockworth, Gloucestershire. They chase after a cheese (honestly!) and the object is to catch the cheese. If no one gets to the cheese then the first down wins the cheese.

That's the funniest thing I've seen in ages. Oh yes, you're all quite mad over there, lol.
Fabulous - makes you proud to be English (I don't think the Scots go in for this sort of thing)
Thanks so much for posting this
Joanna
I know someone who would just love to have a go at that. He's mad enough. Remember Dave who fell in the river last year and swore loudly?
I wonder how the winner is feeling now?
"The winner of the first race at Cooper's Hill in Brockworth, a 19- year-old local man, was stretchered off wearing a neck brace and taking oxygen".

Should I have given the above link the Tiny URL treatment?

uh dunno what is a tinyurl?
I had thought that I might be able to produce a clickable link to the BBC news item I posted earlier - so I used the (free) TinyURL program to reduce the length of the original link that I posted, but it made no difference.
Is the winner the first person to arrive at the bottom of the hill or does that person have to then go and find the cheese, I wonder. It looks like fun.
