Interesting piece about weeds on the BBC website. Inspired I guess by Richard Mabey's new book.
It always intrigues me that pretty native flowers are regarded as weeds to be pulled up in favour of cultivated foreign jobs.

I grow a good many native "weeds" in my gardens not only because they can be quite attractive but because they support a good number of our insects. In fact, a native wild flower garden can be more attractive than, as you put it, cultivated foreign jobs.
