Wouldn't want those horns near me :)
I wandered in for lunch! Tomato & Red Pepper soup and a nice Scone!
This is the weekend when the National Trust closes many of its buildings (including Melford Hall) and this weekend the property was being presented as if it was evening (dark!!).
The House is the home of the Hyde-Parker family and Beatrix Potter often visited. It isn't one of the Trusts finest properties but I rather like it!
One wing of the hall was gutted by fire in February 1942. The house was rebuilt after World War II ended retaining the external Tudor brickwork with a 1950's interior design.

Looks a delightful property - love the stained glass of the Elizabethan lady :) Such a shame some NT properties close for the Winter and don' mention dark - I find photography of the interior of many of their houses impossible - although I appreciate they have to protect contents from light!
Ah.. Autumn colours are lovely... and god to see the inside....
Seems you had the blue sky up there :).. none here yesterday
Interesting contrast between different periods inside the house.
