Well I've had him about 11-12 years and I thought he'd provide a talking point. He is part of the range of birds with real calls. I ought to stress that you can no longer get a Mr Quacks as they've changed the design slightly (don't tell Trish and Ponders but not for the better) although Amazon still show Mr Q in the picture!
It occasionally amuses me when he is sitting in my camera bag to have him quack much to Jan's "amusement" when I did it at St Michael's Mount. "You're Mad!!". The little chap sits on my digital radio by the side of the bed and on holidays he travels in the camera bag. Of course this is all very well but it can have a downside.
As I was going through security at Gatwick on the trip to Guernsey my cabin/camera bag was pulled for checking and there he proudly sat! As you can imagine as a middle aged bloke there was a sense of embarassment but the young lady doing said check said "oh he's cute!" well yes he is.....
I then got stopped again!!! at Guernsey Aiport and yet again there he sat. However this time the person doing the check was a chap in his 40's who gave me the kind of look that suggested he might think I may be a slice short of a sandwich.....
He only started travelling last year when I went to Cornwall but he's becoming quite a well travelled little duck. Anyway I hope he adds a talking point.

I think he's great Pete and not at all an embarrassment, for him anyway!
Oh that is a wonderful story Pete, thank you for sharing! I'm going sit down with Louie this afternoon and we are going find all of your photos of Mr Q!!
Great post Pete and how I smiled about Security! He is so cute and I think he's great too and a wonderful companion on your travels :)
Ponders was really excited reading about his friend Quacks... and knows they're going on an outing at the weekend together.... but... he's - gulp .. just a tad upset about 'some of the words' ......
