We dutifully caught the bus and arrived at Perugia train station...... ticket office shut!!!! So the machine..... which was surprisingly easy..... and we caught the 9:52 (IF we had been sensible we'd have skipped breakfast and got the 8:05! but as we didn't decided we would go to the lake to about 8am.....)
We arrived at the town of Passignano sul Trasimeno and the lake was about a 5 minute walk tickets were obtained and we awaited our ferry. And look what was swimming about.

From Passignano sul Trasimeno you get to Isola Maggiore we had want to go to Isola Polvese which is more of a nature reserve but the journey was more complex (stop at another station get bus) and if a connection failed....
Maggiore looks and is stunning and the walk was great, the one downside was the litter!! Which was sad given there were plenty of bins....
Somebody wistfully wishing that the day didn't end.

We arrived back on terra firma and sat watching grebes in the sun oh and there may have been an ice cream. I can't tell you what the town is like since all I saw was the harbour.....
Tomorrow we come back and I'll start the task of editing lots of pics :)

That's quite a mAgnificent duck. Nice to see how comfortable you both are getting with public transportation. So brave.
