Trish, Trev and I decided to go to Norfolk today.
Right breakfast at Walkers Snack bar which opens at 7...... 7:15? No sign of opening so off we went. Breakfast at the Deepdale cafe arrive at 8:30..... doesn't open to 9 weekdays..... so off to Titchwell and the cafe opens at 9:30..... so off we went to do some birding.
The high tide meant it was bird light especially as access to the beach is limited. Still a few good birds were spotted. Highlights being Little Tern and Little Gull (and that is one of the few/only gulls i like), we also saw Red Crested Pochard, Avocets, Black Tailed Godwits, Dunlin, Meadow Pipit, Brent Geese, Common Tern and loads of warblers....
Redshank
Avocet
Meadow Pipit
Peacock butterfly....
Obligatory Robin....
We went for breakfast (many thanks Mr B) Sausage & Onion baguette for me... nice Sausage....
We popped into the shop and TnT :) were at the binocs. Since wearing glasses I've come to dislike my small travel bins. I picked up a pair of Nikon Travelite 8x25 EX and WOW they were really good and usable! So the card was handed over......
So off to Morston Quay.....
on the way we saw TWO sets of Red Kites and a pair of Marsh Harrier....
and on arrival Crab sandwiches...... delish!
The path to Blakeney was closed (which didn't stop a couple of people....) we went the other way (lots and lots of Linnets!)
After a well earned cold drink we went to Sheringham Park
Rhodies out in force but look what turned up on arrival! Annoyingly I had swapped from Telephoto to travel zoom.....
We snuck the last two Lemon Drizzle cake, with all my overseas travels this was the first national trust cake of the year, it was rather good.
