National Trust to Vaccinate Badgers

It was good to read that the National Trust is to spend £80,000 per annum to vaccinate badgers in a bid to stop them being culled.

As you no doubt know Badgers are blamed for spreading bovine tuberculosis (a cattle disease that is costing the British dairy industry millions of pounds every year) and DEFRA is currently working on plans to allow farmers to shoot the protected animals in order to stop the spread.

The Trust are to vaccinate badgers on their 6,400-acre Killerton estate in Devon. This does ont necessarily mean that the Trust will not allow culling on its land but that where possible vaccination is the preferred method.

I'm still not convinced Badgers are the culprits here. I've never read any concrete proof that they spread TB.
