I awoke to rain but it eased by the time I reached my first target
669 St Swithun, Headbourne Worthy
This may not look much but this rood is incredibly old and rare.
So on to Winchester, some people would show you the magnificent cathedral but I bypassed it and went to the hospital of St Cross Winchester. Englands oldest Almshouse. I've mentioned it before.
So on to 670 St Mary Avington
I then went to the Vyne.
Not only a historic house but some good wildlife. I saw my first Common Sandpiper of the year. But here we see.

Another good day by the sounds of it. Song thrush pic is good for detail.
As for the mystery duck - I'm sure I've seen them at London Wetland Centre. Hope you remember what it's called though :)
What an attractive building the Hospital of St. Cross is.
The Almshouse is really something. Beautiful stained glass windows in the buildings you visit. Flowers of course are marvelous. I'm enjoying your travels.
