Of Mallards and Robins

I popped into Rye Meads this afternoon, as to be expected there was nothing unusual. Highlights being two Green Sandpiper, a Green Woodpecker, Great Crested Grebe (on the river, unusual at RM), a few Pochard and a Song Thrush.

Two pairs of Mallards proved very obliging.

My own highlight was this chap.

Love the light on the robin and the red glow. He looks lovely with his feathers all puffed out.

Pete! Your duck photos are eye candy. That last chap - resembles an Eastern Bluebird with a brown head. A robin??!
