We went to the Mary Green Manor at Brentwood. I believe parts of it date to the early 16th century.
I had:
- Terrine of Game with apple chutney amd Toasted Brioche,
- Rump of Lamb with spinach, pink paris mushrooms, lardons and Anna Potatoes.
- Chocolate Fondant with Orange Ice cream, confit orange and Organge Crisp.
I had tea to follow not coffee.

Yum Yum I love the menu....
The Chocolate Fondant with Orange Ice Cream sounds wonderful. Looks like a nice place.
It's the run-up-to Christmas when most people are panic-buying presents and stocking their larders and wine cases full to bursting - and Mum has come down with a really horrible cold.
I blame either the Christmas parties or the club meetings she went to recently. Sulk sulk.
Sounds a lovely meal, though. :-)

That sounds like a very superior menu, far more interesting than the usual Christmas fayre.
I've just found your blog and am I glad that I did! I can see that I will have to spend some time reading the archives.
food was lovely.
welcome toffeeapple
Sounds yummy. Makes me think of the little britain sketch where the guy orders the gourmet meals and always adds some junk food at the end... "I'll have the roast partridge with brazed artichoke hearts.... and a Yorkie."
