If you've read this blog for any length of time you may just appreciate that I like visiting historic buildings!
About year ago I took you to Croombe Park. I commented at the time that the House has been closed to the public for years and has had myriad uses and the years have not been kind.
The park is being restored by the National Trust and is open to the public and its nice to be able to report that the house opened to the public on September 26th this year.
The trust website lists opening hours up until the end of January. I expect it to be open next summer.
Alas the contents are gone, some of the finest are housed in the Metropolitan Museum in New York (us Brits get blase over our heritage unlike our American cousins), but lets hope that the National Trust can return it to some of its former glory.
