Some local walks

I have spent most of the winter walking locally and racking up the miles. I haven't really taken the camera with me. It has been dull and chilly but a few times recently it has been sunny and I have taken it out.

First things first I have seen a Chiffchaff 😊

There are various sorts of daffodils around and about often growing in the strangest places!

I think we have a pair of Moorhens on a couple of the ponds closest to my house. Lets hope they produce a brood. They are fabulous parents.

It is lovely to see blossom about!

There seem to be a pair of Canada Geese on the Newhall pond they've been about most of the winter

I had only ever seen one coot for most of the winter but suddenly I've seen two! Lets hope they breed.

The common is now dry enough in places (in some places it is still very boggy). There were 4 geese Sunday today only 3. I don't imagine they'll breed. The pond gets too heavily fished.

But the coots and moorhens will hopefully breed.

No foals yet.

There is still one of last years (that's it lying down). There were 2 a few weeks ago,

The Starling is a lovely bird. The colours are amazing.
