I was out clothes shopping this morning.... shudder! Afterwards I wandered to have a look around
St Mary's, Little Easton
It looks like your typical church but inside it is anything but. The church is Norman but essentially what we see is 15th Century perpendicular. Jenkins is not a fan of the exterior.
The two wall paintings do date to the 12th century
The North Transcept is home to memorials to the US Airforce station here in WWII
This tomb is to Lady Alianore Bouchier who died around 1400.
The two foot effigy if a knight on it is, I believe unrelated and earlier in date!
There are many fine tombs in the Bouchier/Maynard chapel.
children who died in infancy are shown with a skull.
Brass to Henry Viscount Bouchier with colour still showing.
Charles II coat of arms ? Given the 1660 date?
