Thanks for your kind comments...
Despite the fact that the it wasn't warm at least it didn't really rain! A bit of drizzle Thursday morning and a brief shower when I was in Snowshill was all there was.
Some observations....
As time goes on its clear his nibs can't walk as far, age catches up with us all but he does pretty well for his age.
The cake wasn't top notch, Buscot Park being a very honourable exception.
Where was everyone? The Cotswolds seemed very quiet, both Dad and I commented on the lack of people and traffic. Yes I know this isn't prime holiday season but the Cotswolds is normally fairly busy and it attracts the older holiday maker.
I do like the Cotwolds and will return on my own fairly soon. This was holiday was heavily National Trust based next time I'll do some of the many fine non Trust properties and gardens in the area.
Petrol prices in the area varied from £1.339 per litre to a whopping £1.449!!! and were generally in the £1.369 range. At home prices vary from £1.309 to £1.339.
Moreton in Marsh has a campaign against the opening of a Sainsbury's Superstore. I can sympathise as Moreton feels like a proper town, unlike say Bourton in the Water which feels like a centre for tourism, a superstore will probably damage the many speciality stores and the market (Moreton has already lost it's bookshop). However I suspect that if the store opens it will be heavily used by the locals........
I think this week has convinced me I want a holiday on my own in the UK next year as well as some overseas trips.
Next stop Vienna.....

Hi Pete, I went through all your holiday posts yesterday and enjoyed them all, lovely photos throughout. As I'm sure I've mentioned before, you were in my neck of the woods. You probably picked the best time to visit. In July and August most places will be really heaving. Hope your Dad enjoyed it despite his limitations, he certainly looked like he was having a good time :-)
Shame about possible Sainsbury's - Be such a shame for the local and more interesting shops!..
... that takes me back, we visited Moreton in the Marsh about 13 years ago, very pretty place. Lovely to see your photos of your trip to Ye Olde Cotswoldes xxx
