A musical Sunday dawned and the Sun shone.
We headed into Hyde Park...
The Rose Garden will look lovely by the end of the month.
Keeping the kids in order.
The concert was at Wigmore Hall with the Fitzwilliam String Quartet playing
Beethoven - String Quartet in F Op. 135
Shostakovich - String Quartet No 9 in Eb Op 117
Now here's a thing if you asked me to listen to either of these on disc I'd go for Beethoven but in the concert hall it was the Shostakovich that really drew me in. Good concert.

Wow, what a lot of Rose Buds on that tree. It will be stunning when it comes into full bloom. As always, the baby birds are so cute. We listen to Shostakovich on cd and it's wonderful stuff, I can't imagine how good it would be to hear it live.
