Matters of high finance (ok a saving bond had matured) meant I ended up in Sudbury. Actually I could have done it in my lunchtime but it gave me an excuse to take Dad out.
A very unusual sight nowadays.
We then went to Finchingfield, a lovely picture post card village in Essex. The sun was shining even if it was a tadge chilly.
I'm coming!

Looks like a lovely village.
How great that is to see some blue sky!! Looks lovely :D Love the goose crossing the road to get to the water...
and yes, you don't often see game being hung in butcher's shops these days.
B&W worked well for the windmill in particular.
The game hung outside the butchers reminded me of our village butchers shop in Kent, they also got the turkeys in at this time of year, they were kept in the field at the back and you had to choose which one you wanted at Christmas. He would then tag them and finish fattening them up. I used to send his Lordship as I was a little too squeemish to do the deed.
That looks a beautiful place Pete.
That does look a nice little place. I wish we'd had a day like this. It was cold and miserable for most of the day, as it has been again today.
