I heard this story on Radio 4's today programme.
Scientists have discovered that men fair worse in brain tests shortly after spending time with a woman that they find sexually attractive compared to those who spend time with Women they don't.
Researchers who carried out the study think the reason may be that men use up so much of their brain function trying to impress attractive women, they have little left for other tasks.
40 men were recruited and given a set of memory tests where they had to observe a stream of letters and say, as fast as possible, if each one was the same as the one before last.
The men then spent seven minutes chatting to male or female members of the research team before repeating the test.
The results showed men were slower and less accurate after trying to impress the women. The more they fancied them, the worse their score.
When the task was repeated with a group of female volunteers memory scores stayed the same, whether they had chatted to a man or a woman.
And they needed research to prove that? I think most men know that it takes quite a few minutes for the brain to migrate back up.
When I told the office this story a minute ago I got the response
"and apparently the Earth is round"
and
"I bet they remember the size of her tits".

It's that old multitasking thingy again.
I agree with St Jude about the multitasking. Were your workmates talking about Long tailed tits, great tits or blue tits !!!! Mmm i think not LOL
"Scientists have discovered..." Sure I could have told them that, lol
Men. What can you say about them? I love these studies.
Some discoveries seem to take a while to find their way to the scientists but.....most women could have saved them a lot of research time :D :D
