At 13:10 my mobile went, it was Dad telling me he had suddenly lost the sight in his left eye and that he was going up the hospital. I said I'd come and pick him up but he said no need and he was off. LUCKILY John opposite was outside and gave him a lift (I've been over to say thanks, John works from home and has given him his mobile for emergencies, nice eh).
I rang him later and he still said no need to come and he was waiting to see someone. At 15:10 I rang him and said I was doing nothing (except worrying) and I was coming. I actually arrived as he was coming out after seeing the consultant. Apparently he has a blood clot over it and it could take a couple of months to clear and if it doesn't he'll need a minor op. He is awaiting a follow up.
I have to say walking in to the hospital brought back loads of horrid memories of last few years.
Dad is naturally worried but I suppsoe it could have been much worse. His been told to do nothing heavy.
Now excuse me but I think I need to lay down.

Oh no, your poor dad - and poor you! My gran had something similar, it did clear up, but she found it really frustrating once the initial shock had worn off.
I hope your father is ok Pete it must be so worrying for you!
I am sorry to hear that your father is not well Pete. Please give him my best get well wishes.
Going to hospital is bad enough on an ordinary day, but with real worries and bad memories piled on top, it must be unbearable.
I feel like lying down at the mere thought.
Here's hoping your dad is a lot better soon.
Take a nap, Pete. Our parents drain us. I know.
minor op...
