Wading in Norfolk

At 7am I arrived at Dave & Joy's for a trip to Norfolk. We arrived at Titchwell and soon found this attractive Peacock.

We had a nice selection of waders Common Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, Dunlin, Grey Plover, Black-Tailed Godwit, Greenshank, Sanderling, Redshank, Spotted Redshank, Rigned Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Little Egret, Curlew Sandpiper and Avocet. Oh and Snipe a ncie view of a Hobby.

Not many in range annoylingly
Avocet

Ruff

Some distant Black-Tailed Godwit

We wandered down to the sea and here you can see Dave the Seasoned sea watcher at work

Aw cute!

There wasn't much off the Sea just Common and Sandwich Tern and some Eider duck.

it started to rain!!! So we headed to Sculthorpe Moor lots of birds but not the elusive Willow Tit. Saw some Marsh Tits.

Chaffinch

And a vole! Not a bad day for mammals as we saw a Stoat earlier

We were advised that the Hour Glass at Sculthorpe was worth a look for lunch and so as it was raining......

It lacked a bit of character but the food was good (Dave finally getting the crab he had wanted) and the staff friendly and helpful.

So about 2pm we wandered off and as it was still raining we decided to call it a day.

An enjoyable day in convivial company.
