I went to Norfolk with Tricia today. She arrived about 7:15 and I drove the rest.
We stopped to see if the Sparrow was about, it was seen but not when we were about, did see a Marsh Harrier though. I'd seen it before and Trica was more interested in seeing Snow Buntings. So off to Salthouse and .......
There were also Dunlin and a Ringed Plover about.
Stopped for a comfort break at Cley (loads of Avocet could be seen from the centre) then went on to Titchwell. Stopped for lunch at Briarfields before going to the reserve.
Oh I ought to mention the weather was STUNNING. February? More like April!! Birds in full verse, Skylarks flying up singing the works.
Brambing on the feeder!
Ah Water Rail in the ditch at Titchwell
There were Snow Drops everywhere
I had mentioned to Tricia something about a Little Owl. As she hadn't seen one before.....
It wasn't close enough for more than a record shot but hey the Litte Owl was there. Also a fly through Sparrowhawk.
Great Day, Great Company, Great Weather and some super birds. Total seen.

Wonderful pictures Pete. I envy you the spring like weather.
great day out by the looks of it.
Nice geese in flight!
I need to come over and do some birding in your neighborhood!
Very strange bird with green body and black and white head!
Great photos, Pete. And I always thought you only got snowbuntings in the Cairngorms. I've never seen them but Alan has - says they look like snow flakes when they flit around.
What a lovely day you had. Last time we were in Salthouse we ate crab salad sandwiches at the pub near the beach; the crab was locally caught and was delish!
thanks all.
andi - that lot are only found here in winter. The Brents are about to head off for the arctic and the Snow Buntings are winter visitors. In Summer we get a different selection. Worth a visit anytime IF the weather is good :D
Mo - you get Snow Buntings all year we get them in winter.
TF - Dun Cow I guess, I've had a drink and meal there!
looks like a great day, some nice pics especially of ducks. no suprise there then.
