If at first you don't succeed ....

Harraby Athletic, an under 14 Football Team (Soccer for those of you who think football involves padding and helmets and very little contact between foot and ball) from Cumbria, had an uneviable record. Since there formation they had played 90 games and lost 90 games. They have always finished bottom of the Longhorn Youth Football League.

The 90th game was a 19-0 defeat!! However on September 5th they played Edenvale Hawks and won 3-2!!!

Coach Brett Preston praised the team's persistence adding:
The looks on the kids' faces were priceless.

Harraby trailed 0-1 but came back to secure three points for the first time. They actually were awarded there first point last season when the option failed to turn up.

Preston said that defeat could sometimes help team bonding.

When they go back to school after a 12, 13, 14 goal defeat, they do tend to stick together.

They will barricade themselves in against a barrage of abuse.

I would have loved to have seen the looks on their faces. It really must have been priceless.

Lol - they should get an award for sheer stickability and determination. Their faces must have been a picture!
