Speke Hall & Warburton Church

Speke Hall was selected as one of approx 20 houses to get 5 stars in Simon Jenkins 1000 best houses and is one of the few I have never visited.

However the reason I finally got around to it was that the baker Hayley the baker at Speke has been posting pictures of scones to Mr Quacks on twitter....

Speke was started in 1530 and is a wood framed wattle and daub Tudor building. Whereas Little Moreton yesterday was untouched at Speke the Victorians had their way.

It was a relief that the scone was Duck worthy :D

And so I headed off to find a church.....

848 St Werburgh, Warburton
