A Rye Meads update

Well the RSPB handed back Rye Meads back to Thames Water yesterday. I'm not entirely sure why, I know it was running costs so the reserve is closed. I'm not sure what the future holds. Thames Water are committed to keeping it open but there are no timescales. I had hoped that a decision would have been in hand but here we are.

I loved the place but I've only been once this year.... And stopped going regularly after 2023. I honestly don't know why. I suspect that during COVID I got an obsession for walking and what I saw on my walks here. I really should have gone once a week. And I should have gone yesterday.... I'm annoyed at that as it had a prominent place in my life.

The pond across the road finally has some water but not much. Hopefully it'll refill and the ducks return. It is the first time I've known it to dry out.
