Brrr

Well it's been a cold start to the new year. The local ponds are still frozen.

As I go past an area of New House development. There is a raised area of grass land. This morning as I glanced up I saw a horse. In five years there has never been anything up there other than birds. This horse had a coat on and I assume it's the same one as was on the common recently as they look the same and it's the only one I've seen. The footpath wanders around the bottom and two ponies were trotting towards me and said hello. They then went up the top. I wonder if they will be there tomorrow? Also I thought they had to be tethered?

When I walked home and Coalport was still duckless. I had just crossed the road when I saw 2 ducks circling. They disappeared and a lot more flew over so I popped back and ..

Lovely to see the horses and Iam glad the ducks are back on Coalport. Very cold here still and we had snow last night. We braved the weather on Wednesday to see the Snowman Trail at Baddesley Clinton. Glad we made the effort to go although the car park was like an ice rink!
